85-87 4K FWD 4 cylinder and 5 cylinder cars.

If you want to look them up superceded part # is 321-498-099C.

They are in excellent shape with, no thread damage, no galling of the CV cage or the balls. I took these apart and cleaned everything. Reinstalled the balls and cage using Loctite 60% molybdenum disulfide paste on all the bearing surfaces. No binding. The cages move by hand. All you have to do is add grease and throw them on an axle.

They come with the plastic spacer and the concave metal ring. They do not come with the wire circlip. After rebuilding they have been packed in plastic bags.

$40 for the pair. Shipping will be $13.45 USPS medium flat rate box.

Hey all — Small Chassis Audi

    Hey all!

I'm picking up my new 1995 Audi 90 Sport quattro this weekend.

I've been looking into coilovers and 5 lug conversions.

The internet has shown that the B5 year spindles/rotors fit the B4 just fine.

The front on the other hand is where I'm stumped.

Any suggestions are appreciated. What coilovers do you all run?

Need some thoughts on this — Small Chassis Audi

      Need some thoughts on this.

I have a 3B block and AAN head, wondering if I can slap the two together without issue. Not sure what timing belt to use (I'm assuming the 3B one). Not sure what the compression ratio would be, if changed at all. Head bolts the same?

Any insight or BDTD experience is helpful!

I'm in some dire need for some axles for my 1995 90 Quattro sport AFC. Are SURTRACK/TRAKMOTIVE worth buying on Rock Auto? ive never had any experience with that brand. I'm looking to replace my front end (driver worse than pass), and then the rear.

my axles have spewed out most of there grease and now the bearings are getting bad. It's my daily so id like a decent set on them. I just wanna try to get something close to OEM. If anyone has a set they rebuilt that was OEM and they would like to sell please contact me aswell.

i have my 95 urs6 up for grabs this car has been my baby but its time for me to move on and i think im gonna go back to the b5 chassis. so with that said the s6 needs a tad bit of tlc but first with the good. straight body on the car, engine runs just havent had the time to finish timing on it. i have a brand new kit for it from fcp euro and new water pump is already installed, new valve cover gasket, fmic, spark plugs, k24 turbo is good, trans and clutch are excellant. and now for the areas that need work interior has torn seats typical audi, sunroof control is missing, tires are ok but need to be changed, famous snake paint affected this s6 also and front fenders were sprayed by previous owner, you can either fix or use this whole car as a perfect donor, i have taken my time carefuly with everything ive done with this car and would love to see it go to someone who can actually use it!! price is 1500obo im located in egg habor township nj thank you

So, quick brain pick for everyone, I had a bad low speed shake in my rear diff, replaced the bushings last night with some 034 density line units and now not only is it worse but I now also have a very bad vibration at freeway speed. I noticed the driver side axle flange is a bit wobbly so I'm thinking its either a cv axle or my diff is knackered. Any ideas? It sounds like someone is going at the underside of my car with a jackhammer.

I picked up a completely rust free (cali car) 84 4K few months back to build as a simple comfortable street car.. plans were to swap in 86 doors, dash, skirts, and few others bits so I set out to buy a 86 parts car.. I find this 87 in Tennessee that looked decent so I jumped on it... car shows up and it's actually also an equally clean car, Quattro scripts, everything intact solid runner.... soo clearly not going to break it down for parts... I won't build 2. Question now is which one to keep?

Looking for suggestions for a FWD transmission to install in a Coupe GT. I haven't ever needed to research front drive transmission before, but the synchros are crap in mine, and the engine is coming out anyways, so now is the time to swap it all. Looking for a relatively drop-in solution with longer gearing. Flywheel/clutch combos that go right in are appreciated too. Planning on dumping an AAN into the thing over the course of the next few months since the 10VT is crap and CIS is the devil.

Also, by chance does anyone know if an RS2 EVO Wagner EM and RS2 turbo fit in a B2 chassis?

So I'm stuck on this importing an 80 avant thing, and while I'll probably wait till I can get a '94 or 95 of course I can't help but look. Does anyone suppose there's any market for the euro 1.9 TDI motor? Looks to be largely the same as the TDI we got in the states in the b5 Passat, but if I could get a car with a motor that was worth more than scrap that would be pretty neat. I can't imagine anyone would care too much for the 2.0e motor.

                                          1990 Audi CQ & 1993 Audi UrS4 — Small Chassis Audi

Sadly I've decided to sell my early 1990 Coupe Quattro and my 1993 UrS4. The price includes all extra parts (putting the list together and will post this week) that I've been collecting to convert the Coupe to a S2. I purchased the UrS4 to use the engine, transmission, ECU, wiring harness and assorted other item on the coupe, but as I looked into the car it was a one owner 118,000 original mile car that had been off the road since 2000. I decided to recommission it (too nice to part out). I have a Carfax stating original miles and I purchased the vehicle from the original owner. Both cars run great and are available for inspection and test drives. Some of the extra parts included are: 034 turbo kit, Wagner Intake and FMIC. S2 Springs, OEM lower trim, etc. The list can go on and on. The price is for both cars and all parts as a package deal. The Coupe is inspected, tagged and driven. The only issue with the UrS4 is that the state of Texas states that there is a lien on it. There is no lien! The car was paid off 21 years ago. The state does not automatically remove the lien when you pay it off, you have to go to the DMV and have it removed. The previous owner did not do this and subsequently lost the title. I have a bill of sale and the P.O. stated he would provide an affidavit stating that the car is free and clear of any liens.

Sorry for my rambling. Please IM me with any questions you my have or more pictures.

Well I'm in need of some expertise help from you guys. I recently put a new to me motor and trans in my 91 7a 90. Everything went pretty well on that. Then I did the first start up to let her warm up. The fan never kicked on so I figured there was an air bubble in the system. Then when I shut it off the fan kicked on for the after run. (I let it get a little passed half way on the gauge before I shut it off.) I thought that was strange but still thinking maybe it's an air bubble. Also I put a new coolant sensor in the radiator and the one in the back of the head. So I decided to take it out for a drive. Before I could back it out of the garage I noticed the reverse lights were staying on no matter what gear I was in and no dash or licence plate lights. So I thought maybe the wires that run down the trunk hinge had finally broke. Not the case I cut and splice the wires and still the same. Any help on either of my problems at all would be greatly appreciated.

It won't be anywhere near Tobias lundin's but the finish doesn't have to be as good for me because this is going to be my daily.

The bodywork came from cool-wheels in Latvia and the quality isn't great but ya get what you pay for in that respect.

No damage other than the front bumper cover is a little deformed from the way it was packaged but I'll let them know how they can prevent it in the future. Otherwise Maris is a stand up guy and his communication is great for English probably being his second or third language. If your not concerned about a perfect replica I would suggest buying from him, if I remember right the whole thing cost less than a 2B carbon hood.

                                                  Happy New year all!

Selling one of my coupes since I don't need it any longer. Has some body issues at the rockers that needs to be dealt with. Diff mount at rear subframe is toast, I will provide a front and rear rust free subframe with the car. Exhaust is very loud, 3 inch that I randomly put together. Needs rear wheel bearings, oil leak at front seal fixed, brake bomb and PS leak fixed, water leak at windshield fixed and a bunch of small stuff here and there. I could list the other items but it might take a while. Both windows work, timing belt is fairly recent, brand new 3B distributor with brass gear, H&R springs, 034 injector upgrade, 034 solid subframe bushings ( front only ) Bosch 044 pump. The wheels will be changed out for 17 inch Team Dynamics Imola and the RS2 lights do NOT come with the car. I think I have a set of speedlines I can throw in with this as well.

Quick question on 4kq slave cylinder bleeding - My bleeder on my clutch slave cylinder broke, so I am unable to bleed it conventionally. Would it work to bleed the system by using a power bleeder and cracking open the clutch hose on the slave end?

My fear is that because the hose is upstream of the actual slave cyl, it would not bleed the slave and leave me with more air in the system.

                                                      Thanks folks. :)

I've seen 034 has a shifter ball that is 30% reduction .. but did some reading and there was the thought that the part may be from a vw scirocco ? My 90 is more or less a daily driver that might see some TSD rally/Rally-x use ( untill I get another car to use for them ) so just trying to get a bit shorter throw without spending large cash on the best option out there ( had a jhm short throw on my old coupe quattro and loved it , just can't justify it on a daily v6 ... unless someone has a used one they want to sell

Okay guys - Need a little input here.

I'm an Audi tech, but I have very little knowledge on CIS & CIS-E systems.

I understand what all the components and what not do, but diagnosis is a little bit of a different animal than I am used to.

That being said, I have an 87 4KCSQ that is having and intermittent problem.

Very slow throttle response and bogging during gear changes, only when warm. Car runs beautifully when it is in cold-start phase. Car smells like it is running very rich when this problem occurs, smells fine when it doesn't happen.

Has anyone seen anything similar? Any input is greatly appreciated.

                                                          Thanks!

Got our old girl back after being at my buddies shop for 2.5 months. New timing belt, misc belts, pulleys, (thanks Dave Pecoraro!), Konis, RSB install (mounts welded on), Clarion bluetooth receiver, oil change, tint, stainless steel brake lines, & alignment. Also all new seals for intake manifold, exhaust manifold, turbo, valve cover, etc. I'm sure I'm missing a few other things

She's driving great now! Just need an intercooler, proper seats ,B5 3 spoke steering wheel, headlights, S2 bumper, new wheel set up and a few other goodies and she'll be 100% dialed for what I'm going for.

I've been trying to get my 80 daily drive-able for awhile. But i'm kind of lost at this point. I just cant seem to get it to idle nicely (its idling harshly, not fluctuating) and not have low rpm stumbles/sluggishness. I've been able to get it running great many times before this but this time i'm stumped.

It has lots of newer parts including: injectors, injector seals, spark plugs, plug wires, cap, rotor, fuel pump, fuel filter, both water temp sensors, ISV, 02 sensor, yada yada yada.

Here's an oddity I noticed. At normal idling, with the ISV plugged in, I cannot take the oil cap off without the engine dying. If I unplug the ISV, It runs great/pulls smoothly (sans, idle racing) and I can take the oil cap off without it dying.

Long winded for a friday night but hoping someone has ran into this before. I'm trying to get this 10v to a million miles!

Guess its time to ask since i cant actually find the answer im looking for. I have a Coupe Clone that Adam Audi Garderewicz built. AAN swap. I want to keep it on the road and driving while building a new motor. I have access to a 93 VW eurovan with a I5 10V im pretty sure commonly known for being a stroker motor. Is this the block that people are after to build a 2.5l+ 20V head high HP motor from? Like the ones sold by Hank modified and adapted? Is the AAN head the best head to be mated to that bottom end? Is 034 the ones to call to take my money and building this project motor? Is it going to fit in the car? Im looking for upper 300-400 wheel hp. Should i even pull that block and go this route?

Looking for advice from other b2 or even b3 owners with 3b or AAN motors in their rides and that track them hard. By tracking I mean road course lapping, not drags. For the year or so I have been having problems with cooling when driving hard about 75 degrees. It started before my GT3071 upgrade so I dont think it is due to that. I have a 2b supplied 4 row radiator that's about 14 years old. There is proper ducting and there is a good spall fan behind it. I removed the radiator about 6 months ago and cleaned the bugs and debris out of it along with methodically straightening out the bent fins. While that might have helped slightly I am still having issues keeping the temps down on any day north of 75. I can manage it by just driving it slightly lighter but that's kind of not the point. I dont think the issue is airflow as even with the fan running continuous it still gets hot and with the air dam I have on the front of the car there is a ton of suction through the radiator trying to make up for the low pressure behind the dam. So I have to decide whether I want to replace the radiator and risk that it is not the problem or I can add an auxiliary cooler which would almost certainly solve the problem but with added complexity and failure points. Others with B2/B3's with AAN or 3b's having cooling problems when tracked hard?

It is an auto, but it's been maintained to a very high standard, apparently. Being that the car has been located in the Bronx it's entire life, it's got cosmetic issues. But at 160k miles, it's in perfect running condition, so I've been told. The car comes with a complete maintenance and repair record as well. If you're interested, let me know, and I can put you in touch with the owner/seller.

You need a vise, 2in grade K copper pipe, cut to 1 3/4 inches long, 1 1/16 socket. 3 lb. sledge and Kroil. Spray Kroil in the gap between the bushing and the arm and let set overnight. Put the copper pipe, socket and control arm in vise. Put tension of the bushing. If needed, hit the vise with the sledge. The sudden jolt will loosen the bushing. Keep tightening the vise till the bushing comes out. You may have to hit the vise with the sledge several times while removing the bushing.

                                                                      %d comments
